Band 7.5

Dear Sir or Madam,

A couple of weeks ago, your popular international travel magazine, in its 250th edition, published an article about my hometown in an effort to provide a bit more exposure to the travel-related activities in it.

Well, while I appreciate this noble effort of yours, I regret to inform you that there is a factual error in your article that requires immediate correction. In fact, your article in question says that the migratory birds visit our town during the month of April while the correct information is that they start to visit our hometown in early February.

By the way, correcting this information in your magazine is very important for the livelihood of many people in my hometown because they heavily rely on the tourist spending of the visitors who come to visit our town in order to see these migratory birds. Therefore, I would like to request you to please issue a correctional notice in your magazine’s next publication about the previous mistake so that prospective tourists don’t get confused about the timing of the migratory birds’ visit to my hometown.

Thank you for your consideration in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Antonio Perez

Dear Sir/Mam,

This letter is to express your mistake in the article you published in the Geographic travel magazine on the 20th of June that you gave false information about my town.

First of all, would like to inform you, that my town has four seasons, and not only my city is amazing in the winter for tourists, but also they can travel in other seasons.

Therefore, please correct the error that you wrote: “Karaj is a wonderful town in the winter”.

On the other hand, As far as I know, your magazine is an international journal, and very popular in my country, so I expect you to publish correct information in the information age. As the mistake was caused by your magazine, I hope this problem will be fixed as soon as possible.

Thus, I suggest you if it would be possible apologize to my fellow citizens in the next edition you publish.

I look forward to receiving your response.

Yours faithfully,

Mohammad Mohammadi

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my concern regarding the article that was published about the Kandy town in your last week’s magazine. In this article, there is some misinformation published related to Kandy city. As of the article the old Queen’s Hotel was built in 1916 which is wrong and it should be corrected as 1923.

Nevertheless, the current owner is not Mr J. Edgar, but Mr C.J. Broody. I would greatly appreciate it if you could correct these two errors and publish them again. Because your magazine is famous among most of the tourists visiting Sri Lanka and most of them take information by referring to the aforementioned

article. Because of that, please make sure the information provided in all the articles is accurate since it will harm the reputation of your magazine. So, I reckon it is better to have a proofreading team with the correct facts before publishing the weekly articles. I would appreciate it if you could consider this request and I wish you all the success.

Yours sincerely,

Jhon
