Write a letter to your friend containing your intention to move to a college accommodation

You are a college student in an English speaking country. Write a letter to your friend containing your intention to move to a college accommodation. In your letter
– give reasons why you are not happy with your current accommodation,
– explain why you think the college accommodation will be better.

Dear Harry,

I hope this letter finds you in excellent health and high spirits. It has been almost four months since I moved to Australia to pursue my postgraduate studies, and I thought I should update you about some recent changes in my living arrangements.

At present, I am sharing a rented apartment with a few senior students, which is located nearly thirty miles away from my university. The daily commute by train takes me almost two hours, and by the time I return home, I am completely drained of energy. This leaves me with little time to prepare meals or concentrate on my studies, and I often end up falling asleep without accomplishing much. Naturally, this routine has started to affect both my academic performance and overall well-being.

After much thought, I have decided to shift to the college accommodation next semester. Living on campus will be far more convenient: not only will I save valuable commuting hours, but I will also be able to dine in the canteen instead of cooking for myself. Furthermore, I will have more opportunities to engage with my classmates, and the round-the-clock access to the library and computer labs will be a tremendous advantage.

I have already applied for a room, and I am optimistic about moving in as soon as this term ends. Otherwise, everything else here is going smoothly. Please convey my warm regards to your parents, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours lovingly,
Samaya Thapa
