The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled tea and pineapples in 2010 and 2015 in five European countries.

The two tables compare Fairtrade tea and pineapple sales in five European countries in 2010 and 2015.
The first table shows that Fairtrade tea sales increased in all five countries, albeit to varying extents. Germany and Norway experienced modest rises, from 2.8 to 3 million euros and 1.8 to 2 million euros, respectively. The Netherlands saw a slightly larger increase, from 2 to 2.7 million euros. Austria’s sales doubled, rising from 4 to 8 million euros. France recorded a dramatic surge, with sales jumping from 2.5 to 21 million euros.
The second table highlights Austria as the leading purchaser of Fairtrade pineapples, with sales tripling from 16 to 48 million euros. France and the Netherlands also saw significant growth, increasing from 2 to 6.5 million euros and 1.6 to 5 million euros, respectively. Conversely, Norway and Germany experienced declines, with pineapple sales falling from 2.8 to 2 million euros and from 3 to 1.9 million euros.
Comparing the two tables, in 2010, tea sales ranged between 1.8 and 4 million euros, while pineapple sales were generally lower, between 1.6 and 3 million euros, except for Austria’s notably high 16 million euros. By 2015, sales of both products rose in all countries except Norway and Germany, which saw reductions in pineapple sales.
