The graph shows the differences in wheat exports over three different areas.

The line graph compares the quantities of wheat exported by Canada, Australia, and the European Community between 1985 and 1990. Overall, Canada dominated wheat exports until 1988, after which the European Community overtook it as the leading exporter, while Australia experienced a general downward trend.

In 1985, Canada exported the largest amount of wheat, at roughly 19 million tonnes, followed by the European Community at about 17 million tonnes, and Australia at approximately 15 million tonnes. By 1986, exports from both Canada and the European Community declined slightly, whereas Australia’s figure rose marginally.

Between 1987 and 1988, Canada’s wheat exports surged dramatically, peaking at 25 million tonnes, while the European Community’s exports dropped to 15 million tonnes, and Australia’s remained comparatively low. However, in 1989, Canada’s exports fell sharply, in contrast to the European Community, which experienced a substantial rise.

By 1990, the European Community became the top exporter, shipping just over 20 million tonnes of wheat. Canada followed closely with slightly under 20 million tonnes, while Australia’s exports declined to just above 10 million tonnes, marking the lowest figure among the three regions.
