Listening Extra is published by Cambridge University Press to enhance the Listening skills of language learners. This set is based on British English and is suitable for those language learners whose language level is beginner to intermediate to high. This book can be used as a complementary resource for teaching listening skills in language classes.
The present Listening Extra book has 18 thematic lessons; That is, the content of each lesson is about a specific topic (topics such as family, daily activities, travel and tourism, food and drink, health and fitness…). Each lesson is divided into three parts, the first part is suitable for beginner level learners, the second part is suitable for intermediate level learners and the third part is suitable for upper level intermediate language learners. The method of teaching this book is that in each lesson there is a text with blanks that students should listen to the relevant audio file and fill in the blanks. There may also be an image that learners need to listen to the audio file related to that image and answer questions about that image. The answers to each exercise are also written in the same section. And the text of the audio files is also available at the end of the book.
