The position of women has changed a great deal in many societies over the past 50 years. But these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Ans:
Although changing in the position of women can be seen in many societies over the past 50 years, these societies have not claimed it as an achievement of gender equality.
While I agree that gender equality has yet achieved worldwide, I still believe that it can be found in many places.
The one obvious sign of women right rising is that the number of women in powerful positions had increased over the past decades. It is quite general for a woman as a CEO of a company or a president candidate in a country. A great example of it is considered as Angela Merkel, who is a retired chancellor of Germany, and she is thought of one of the most successful politician in the history after all the good things she was done for promoting the country.
Moreover, females are encouraged to stand up and fight for their own rights nowadays. Thanks for social media is being wildly used, for those women who is not courageous enough for defending themselves can post her misfortune anonymously online and seek help from other users. Also, some cases have been paid more attentions such as sexual abuse or sexual harassment, which can be convicted as a serious crime now and fortunately it is different from the environment of early history.
However, there are still many mistreated cases in schools or work places which yet justice reach it. Even though it is true, most people in public are willing to help them once they ask for it.
To conclude, it is true that women’s position has been promoted nowadays in many societies and they make everyone pay a great attentions on it. Even though gender equality has yet been achieved, it is only about time when everyone puts effort on it altogether.
