IELTS Reading Course (Ac+ GT)

In the IELTS Reading test, your challenge is not just to understand the passages — it’s also to record your answers quickly and accurately. Since the test is only 60 minutes long and includes no extra time for transferring answers, you must learn to read, comprehend, and record simultaneously.

Many test-takers lose valuable marks not because they misunderstand the passage, but because they record answers incorrectly. Mastering this skill is essential for achieving a high band score.

1. Recording Answers in the Paper-based Test

In the paper-based version, you will receive two things:

  • a question booklet (for reading passages and questions)
  • an answer sheet (where your answers are to be recorded)

During the Test:

  • ✍️ Write your answers directly on the answer sheet as you go — do not wait until the end.
  • ✏️ You may underline keywords and make notes in the question booklet — but remember, these will not be marked.
  • 🧠 Focus on accuracy: spelling, word limits, and question numbers must all be correct.

Time Management Strategy:

  • You have about 20 minutes per passage (3 passages = 60 minutes).
  • Start with easier questions and come back to difficult ones later.
  • Reserve the last 2–3 minutes to quickly review your answers.

No extra transfer time: Unlike the Listening test, you must record all answers within the 60-minute reading time.

2. Recording Answers in the Computer-delivered Test

In the computer-based version, you will read the text and type answers directly on the screen. The interface shows the passage and questions side by side, allowing you to read and answer simultaneously.

During the Test:

  • 💻 Type answers directly into the answer boxes as you read.
  • 🖱️ Some questions require you to select, drag and drop, or type words.
  • ✅ You can move between questions freely and flag any for review.
  • ✏️ Use the highlight tool to mark key parts of the text.

Time Management:

  • A timer on the screen helps you track your time.
  • You can easily see which questions are completed or unanswered.
  • As with the paper test, there is no extra time — complete everything within 60 minutes.
